TERA – developing cooperation and exchange of experience between students, staff, the Palacky University in Olomouc, and public administration institutions and service providers in the field of psychotherapy, art therapy, drama therapy, music therapy and dance movement therapy

TERA aims to develop cooperation and the exchange of experiences between students and UP,  as well as institutions of higher education in the field of psychotherapy and expressive therapies.

We offer:
workshops hosted by Czech and foreign experts at UP and other institutions participating in the network; organisation of the interdisciplinary international conferences COMMON SPACES 2014 and 2015; internships abroad for academic staff, and professional internships at various establishments in the Czech Republic for students of Psychology and Special Education at UP; and a series of interesting lectures and workshops on research methodology and soft skills. The project links all participants in order to share information, experience, and scientific findings.

This project is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Czech government.

Key activities

Key Activity 1: Creating and developing a network of partner institutions between universities, institutions of higher education, and institutions of public administration and the service providers in the field of psychotherapy and expressive therapies.

A network of partner institutions will be created as the basis of long-term cooperation, based on mutual systematic advice, regular internships, joint seminars, meetings and other activities.
Key Activity 1 will be implemented in the period April 2013 – March 2015.

Key Activity 2: Create a communication platform for the exchange and sharing of experiences and opinions.

The second key activity is to create a communication platform that offers a safe and welcoming space for the exchange of knowledge and experience between the tertiary sector and work places, as well as between the various entities and provide feedback on their work.
Key Activity 2 will be implemented in the period April 2013 – March 2015.

Key Activity 3: Preparation and implementation of the international conference Common Area Olomouc in 2014 and 2015
As a result of this key activity, two international interdisciplinary conferences will be organized. The intention of the organizers is to create high-quality space for meetings, the exchange of experience, new knowledge and ideas for Czech and foreign experts in the field of psychotherapy and expressive therapies. In addition to the lectures, both conferences will also offer a series of thematic workshops. All papers will be submitted to peer-review proceedings, and be published in electronic form.
This key activity will be conducted in the period May 2013 – March 2015.

Key Activity 4: Interactive lectures and workshops for Czech and foreign experts in the field of psychotherapy and expressive therapies
The fourth key activity of the project will take the form of interactive lectures and workshops for Czech and foreign experts. During the project a minimum of 50 interactive training sessions for university and college students and academic and teaching staff are scheduled. The goal of the interactive workshops and seminars is to enrich all target groups with the latest findings and the current trends in psychotherapy, art therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, and dance movement therapy.
This key activity will be conducted in the period April 2013 – March 2015.

Key Activity 5: training and experience for students and staff at UP and their partners in  institutions of public administration, the public sector, and tertiary education institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad
The fifth key activity of the project will provide more than 130 internships in the Czech Republic and abroad. Students will gain experience by applying their accumulated knowledge in practice – in social services, psychiatric hospitals, orphanages, prisons, and other institutions in the country. Academics will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and knowledge of their field of expertise in the Czech Republic and abroad.
This key activity will be conducted in the period May 2013 – March 2015.

Key Activity 6: Educational activities aimed at increasing mutual cooperation and ability to compete in an international environment
The intention of the sixth key activity of the project is to improve the target groups’ language and presentation skills through internships, language courses, and management and presentation skills courses in order to facilitate mutual cooperation. The project plans at least 30 foreign language internships for university and college workers, 8 course management skills for workers, and 8  management and presentation skills courses for university and college students.
This key activity will be conducted in the period May 2013 – March 2015.
